Recognize electrical warning signs

Stop using the affected system if you notice smoke, arcing, melted insulation, a hot receptacle, repeated breaker trips, a burning odor, damaged shore-power connections, or swelling batteries. Disconnect power only when you can do so safely; call emergency services for fire or immediate danger.

12-volt DC systems

Lights, controls, circuit boards, fans, pumps, slides, and many appliance functions depend on the 12-volt system. Diagnosis may involve battery state, connections, fuses, grounds, voltage drop, converter output, and the individual circuit.

120-volt AC systems

Shore power, breakers, receptacles, transfer equipment, and some appliances use 120-volt power. Do not remove covers or probe live circuits unless you are qualified and equipped to do so.

Batteries and converters

A battery that will not stay charged does not automatically mean the battery alone has failed. Charging sources, parasitic loads, wiring, connection condition, temperature, and battery type can all affect performance.

Service boundaries

Engine, chassis, generator, and drivetrain electrical work are not advertised. Describe where the failed component is located so the request can be screened accurately.
